STD Ghosts and the Goblin Genocide

We're gonna keep this brief cuz I'm on mobile and we both have better things to do.
Find a /tg/ game years ago with friend I usually don't play with cuz we were the only two who were hankerin for a game at the time.
Session 0
We all get into a skype call together (pre discord yikes), and shit it up for a bit. Eventually the DM pitches their setting, gives handouts and houserules, etc.
It isn't really clear what the actual game is gonna be about because she uses the majority of the time talking about her homebrewed disease table.
At first I thought "Well that's cool. In a grim setting making disease a more serious threat can help explain why the clergy are so powerful, and increase verisimilitude."
Nope. It's an STD table. She keeps going on about how there's basically no way to avoid it and diseases are really really big in this world. She's practically melting with excitement talking about it.
Session 1
Session 1 begins. I'm a Duskblade, my friend is a wizard. We're in a gothic city. We hear some rumours of a part of the city that's been abandoned by the guard or something but they need help with some sewer monsters or something.
We take the bait cuz we want to play the game, so we start walking.
First encounter. Several ghosts emerge from the road and start hovering toward us. Physical damage? Immune. Energy damage? Immune. Force damage? Immune.
We're level one and have now spent all our spell slots to figure out that the ghosts are immune ro everything. They get close and touch us.
Touch attack deals minimal damage, but.... Roll 1d100 for diseases! :D
So, every single one of us now has the first stage of some random horrible disease. We shrug and decide we need money for Remove Disease, so we continue to the sewer monsters hook.
Eventually we make it into the sewers, and discover a whole ass goblin city. DM says there are hundreds of goblins engaged in trade, alley fights, and other urban business.
Having only cantrips left, I cast ghost sound to make it sound like one goblin is insulting another. Indeed, they're dumb and it works. One kills the other.
We argue abour what to do for a while cuz hundreds of goblins is clearly out of our league. The DM seems upset by this and reminds me that ghost sound worked. She insists that I try it again, and no dice roll, it works the exact same again.
Deadpanning, I cast it again. It works again.
I do this about 5 more times before I ask "Am I just going to cast a cantrip 500 times and kill all but the last goblin?" She dodged the question, shrugged, and urged me to keep doing it.
I left the skype group at that point.
Epilogue
My friend continues playing after that. I hear that they went to a south america analogue where he genocided and enslaved a population of succubi, so I guess I missed out.

"Ravenscourt" is a four-part gothic horror influenced #audiodrama #audiofiction ghost story about a psychiatrist who is haunted by past mistakes, the patient he failed and the place he now believes may have played a role in all of it. The story is inspired by St Anne's Asylum in Cork City. The now derelict building was built in the 1850s and the "corridor asylum" is said to be one of the longest buildings in Europe.
