Suggestion to end all cheaters
Now you see, normally anyone with 1.7-1.8 can join with any version and any mods they want. Now here comes the suggestion. I know you guys here at kohi have pretty good coders. On this website, there should be a download for the “Kohi Client” (You don’t have to call it that) basically it’s not like a different launcher or anything, it’s just a version in which you can only connect to Kohi if you are using it. It should be all the mods people might use compacted into one version with some strands of code linking it so that kohi recognizes that you are using the version, when you login to the server. There should be a separate options menu where you can turn on the different huds, like coordinates, armor status, sprinting status, etc. Basically, some servers already have a feature like this, where when you try to log on without their requirements, it tells you that you need to get them. Most cheats now either latch on to the game from a separate menu, or are a mod in the game. This will end that. Code it so that “injection clients” can’t change your game. I’m not sure how to do this, it should be easy to block external items from your game. If this can’t be stopped by a well coded version, then resort to making a new launcher. “What about autoclickers?” Well, I know injection clients can be stopped, they work on minecraft only; they don’t give you less knockback on CSGO. Autoclickers are kind of universal, they may continue, but the thing is now people won’t have perfect aim, and will actually miss hits and not land a hit every opportunity they can. This won’t end cheaters, just limit them, hopefully help out the community. Oh, and by the way there would be a 1.8 and 1.7 version if this ever existed, as well. And one more Idea I have, as well, before I go. If you can stop autoclicking, then unban everyone who was banned for hacking. Keep the ddosers and everyone else banned who was not a cheater but did something against the rules banned. Give everyone a second chance since they can't cheat anymore, let us have fun again, and you might even make more money because of ranks. Anyways, thanks for reading, and post what you think
Ok, a lot of people have something to say about this so let me clarify. You can't log on to the game itself if the code is not what it normally is. It might not be a text file saying to block everyone logging on, you can send information through somewhere else, you know how when you install an "online" version of something, it is a smaller size than the offline? That's because it retrieves information from somewhere else to do something. Same thing with this. Some people might try to go offline and play... You can't! It will say, in order to log on to this kohi version/client in specific, you need to be connected to the internet. People changing the source code might happen, but the thing is you can't play if one thing is gone or different, every little file (which is not txt, btw so no aimbot coders today) contains something saying everything has to be there to start the game. There will be no "mods" folder, or checking of passwords. All its doing is checking to make sure the files YOU agreed to download are the same as they were when you got them. People might find ways to cheat, but we don't even know how yet so stop trying to be a wizard and just think about how this might work. And MrMorett, you say I am wasting your time? How am I doing that? Don't click on the post if you don't want your precious mineman time to go away. People are resistant to change, is all I'm saying and we should try this. I know it won't be easy, but at least look into it, don't disregard it right away. Thanks.
New tool: separately-installed dedicated world-version-converter.
Right now, if I want to bring a world I made in Beta from its standstill all the way to the present, my best bet is to create multiple launcher profiles in a chain of sequential versions and then open that world in all of them, one by one.
When Minecraft has huge world-format updates, the stable release of the game asks you to convert your world to the next version. Right now we've got some weird thing related to The Flattening which I don't fully understand. In early FR, we had the need to convert our worlds to ANVIL - so that we could make our worlds twice as tall, which resulted in messy double doors. Before that, Beta wanted us to convert our worlds to the sped-up Scaevolus Mcregion, which I think was probably a good call.
The problem is that this process is often slow, glitchy, and unreliable. Not to mention the lack of interface and communication.
What I am suggesting is a program you can download that can take any old world from later than Infdev and make a new copy of it that is compatible with any further-ahead version you choose. So, if I wanted to move a world from Beta 1.6 to Minecraft Full Release 1.8, I could do so without even opening the game. If I wanted to play an Alpha world in Minecraft 1.13, I'd be able to.
NOW THIS IS NOT TO SAY that they'd still keep generating the same terrain that they originally did. Making that many generators would be a hell load of work and I don't think the struggle would be good for anyone. This would just make it so that any landscapes you had generated already would still be there and not have any glitches like scrambled tree leaves or wonky doors, and once you explored outwards you'd generate whatever gets generated by what version of Minecraft you're playing. This would cause faultlines, but a lot of people don't mind faultlines, myself included.
What I do mind is how bringing Minecraft Beta 1.8 worlds into Minecraft FR 1.12 makes them look really awesome with their discoloured biomes and autumnal oak trees, but that bringing them into 1.13 causes them to lag and spit acid. I have tried this, and it was a let down. Ideally, this program would be powerful enough to convert world files from Minecraft Alpha to Minecraft Update Aquatic perfectly, preserving the location of blocks and mobs, but not getting dirty with any legacy features or trying to do something it can't.
I didn't say anything about bringing worlds backwards through time (E.G. Bringing a Beta 1.8 world back to Beta 1.7) because I don't think that would be as useful or as good. Judge that how you will.
These are the benefits of using a Minecraft World Format Conversion Program: * You wouldn't have to open Minecraft to convert your world, and if you used common computer knowledge you'd be able to play a different world in Minecraft while you waited. * It'd be free and anyone could use it, but it would be incapable of actually playing the game, so piracy would be completely impossible through this program. * Good user interface and an offline help doc, as well as succinct, clear communication while you use it. You would be told straight up if something you wanted to do was currently dangerous or not possible with the software, and it would let you know before each conversion "what I'm signing up for". * It could be regularly updated on a different time scale from the Minecraft game, so we wouldn't need snapshots or stable releases or the anxiety caused by updating that part of the game. * Lots of possibilities.
Something else, a nice addition that I thought of, would be the ability to change a Customized World to Large Biomes, or a Default world to Superflat. This would help for whenever Mojang decides it's time to remove a world type.
Why Mojang should care about this concept: * A lot of players really like old versions and their old worlds. Inventing this would help Mojang encourage usage of those old worlds in the present as well as the past, therefore promoting those people's usage of the versions that Mojang puts out in modern times. * Currently, our conversion modules are crap. Honestly, they just don't really work. You've seen them in action before, you know they're not perfect or reliable, and this would be the solution. * This would win a lot of people over if it was built and released. More returning players = less developer desperation.
